The Reason for the Season

You know the holidays are quickly approaching when shopping malls are becoming busier, ugly sweaters are the new norm, and finding the perfect Christmas tree is on your to-do list. You're dreading those awkward family gatherings where aunts and uncles ask how life has been treating you and who that new boyfriend of yours is. But let's face it, family is family and at the end of the day they are all you have.

Sometimes life rolls by in the blink of an eye. We get used to our day-to-day routines and forget how to live. We become robots. I challenge all of my readers to step back, and look at life from a different perspective. Realize how blessed you truly are. Take a moment to smile at a stranger, pay it forward, tell your loved ones how much you love them because you never know what tomorrow may bring.

As this holiday season approaches quickly, let's put our chaotic lives on pause and remember why we are able to celebrate this holiday. Christmas - the day our Lord, Jesus Christ was born. In this modern day and age, so many people~ both young and old ~seem to forget what Christmas is all about! It is not about the latest technology device or that new purse you have been eyeing for weeks in the display window, it's about giving and not expecting anything in return but more importantly its about Jesus! Our Heavenly Father gave up His ONLY son so that we could be free of sin and be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. Be a follower of Jesus Christ, give back and be a blessing in disguise to someone else because you never know what they may be going through and always remember- the real reason for this holiday season.

Less hate, more love,

xoxo
